Columbus North High School is a four-year, comprehensive public high school serving approximately 2,300 students in Columbus, Indiana—an architecturally renowned city in the rich agricultural heart of Bartholomew County. One of two high schools in the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC), North is part of a district that also includes two middle schools, eleven elementary schools, a day adult school, and an alternative high school. Columbus North offers a rigorous academic experience supported by a professional staff of over 120 educators, including five full-time counselors. More than 90% of the teaching faculty hold a master’s degree or higher, and all staff are fully certified in their respective disciplines. The school operates on a block schedule, with students attending four 85-minute classes per day on an alternating two-day rotation. Built into this schedule are dedicated student resource periods and advisory sessions, promoting both academic support and mentorship. The academic calendar consists of 182 instructional days split into two semesters, each divided into two nine-week grading periods. Students have access to a diverse selection of coursework, including Advanced Placement (AP), dual-credit, and career-focused electives. Columbus North is recognized for preparing students not only for collegiate success but also for technical careers and real-world readiness. Beyond the classroom, CNHS excels in extracurricular achievement, with competitive programs in athletics, fine arts, speech, robotics, journalism, and more.
