About Comeau's Sea Foods
Comeau’s Sea Foods Group of Companies was founded by Bernardin J. Comeau and his brother, Clarence Comeau, in 1946 and has been a mainstay in the Canadian seafood industry ever since. Comeau’s is a leader in the harvesting, processing and global distribution of fish and seafood products. We have pushed our boundaries using enhanced communications and secure transportation systems in order to reach our customers and suppliers all over the world. Comeau’s Sea Foods Group offers fresh goods such as scallops, herring, herring meal and oil. We also process a full line of quality frozen products. Our value added product lines include, but is not limited to, smoked salmon, smoked mackerel, salt fish, breaded scallops, seafood spreads, seafood chowders and ready to eat items. Comeau’s Sea Foods commitment to quality goods and services extends beyond our seafood products to the parts and supplies used throughout its production facilities. Comeau’s Sea Foods services also include industrial grade metal fabrication, machining, ship repair and maintenance services and the Nova West Laboratory. By placing an emphasis on sourcing the right tools for the job and a fully equipped stockroom, we are able to ensure that production machinery consistently generates superior grade goods. Our products are primarily from Atlantic Canadian sources and, with very few exceptions, all of our processing takes place in Nova Scotia. We are pleased to offer a selection of commodity and value-added products. Comeau’s employees are loyal, dedicated and take pride in being part of the Comeau’s Sea Food’s family. We employ over 400 people and are one of the largest employers in Southwest Nova Scotia. Comeau’s has employed multiple generations of families and many have worked for more than 30 years with the company.
