About Common Area Studio

Common Area Limited is a LLC based in Hong Kong, founded by Hanson Fok since 2018. Common Area is a content creation studio that was founded as an alternative solution to the outdated marketing agency. The studio recognises that the creative workforce is quickly shifting to freelance and independent operations instead of in-house work, making it difficult to attract talent at agencies and production houses. At the same time, freelancers and independent creatives often find it difficult to organise and collaborate with clients as well as other creatives on larger projects. Common Area’s solution to this is to create a mutually beneficial ecosystem of creatives, utilising a mobilised and decentralised workforce to accomplish various creative tasks and projects. This allows the studio to work with a diverse group of talent and enables competitive pricing for SME’s, startups and limited budget projects alike, while not compromising on quality and ensuring professional business standards. The vision for a creative collective that delivers on quality and professionalism is reflected in Common Area’s mission statement: “To create valuable content that matters, while building a strong community of creatives that love their work.” Currently, Common Area is an ever expanding project-based team of six with expertise in videography, editing, photography, graphics and animation, with Hanson Fok leading the team as the full time director.
