About CommonTown
A spin-off company from A*STAR Singapore, has a strong research and development capability, and specializes in Education Technology. We are passionate about applying deep technology and research to transform learning, making it faster, better and more effective. Our products include Qoqolo – a Preschool Management System; CommonAcademy – a Learning Content Management System; Swiiit – a Web Content Management System; and Dudu – a Personalised Chinese Learning System. Qoqolo is used by over 190 preschools in Singapore, including all NTUC First Campus’ My First Skool and Little Skool-House centres. Over 38,000 teachers use CommonAcademy as an online learning portal, and over 230 schools in Singapore use Swiiit to manage their websites. CommonTown’s latest development, Dudu, is Singapore’s first research-based Personalised Chinese Learning System. Dudu recommends levelled eBooks based on each student’s reading ability to allow the student to improve his/her command of the Chinese language through reading. In 2013, the Ministry of Education One Portal All Learners (OPAL), powered by CommonAcademy, won the Asia Pacific FutureGov Award for Education Organisation of the Year. CommonTown was also recently awarded the Civil Service College Unified Learning Management System (ULMS) tender to provide an e-learning portal to over 70,000 civil servants in Singapore.
