About Communities In Schools of Greater Wichita Falls Area
Communities In Schools of the Greater Wichita Falls Area is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in Wichita Falls in 2006. We offer personalized student management services by connecting students and families with academic and community resources to ensure student success. We collaborate with campus staff to offer a structured, research-based Stay In School program focused on goals and outcomes to empower student achievement. We are currently located on all secondary campuses within Wichita Falls ISD. Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CISGWFA has a Site Coordinator at each secondary campus and that person has students that are referred to them. Students can be referred by parents, teachers, school staff, or self-referred. The Site Coordinator then meets with the student and focuses on 6 key components: supportive guidance, academic readiness, health and human services, college and career, parent and family involvement, and enrichment. By working with not only the student, but their families and the community as well in all 6 areas, the Site Coordinator helps the student to reach their full potential and to be successful in their education.
