Communities In Schools of Virginia is part of the nation's largest and most effective organization dedicated to keeping kids in school and empowering them to succeed in life. In Virginia, we operate as a network of six independent affiliates serving more than 125,000 students in 26 school districts and 176 schools. Surrounding Virginia's students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Our affiliates forge partnerships with schools to serve as a hub of support for students and families, connecting them with the resources they need to learn and grow. By surrounding students with a network of support, we are helping kids overcome barriers and ignite their own personal potential. The CIS-VA purpose is to strengthen the network through technical assistance and resource support; expand the network to reach more kids faster; and ensure fidelity to the evidence-based model of wraparound supports through quality training and data analysis. Our vision is to reach all high-need schools in Virginia, and grow our capacity to have a deeper reach in the largest schools, contributing to a strong pipeline to the workforce and vibrant communities.
