About Community Area Resource Enterprise (CARE 66)
CARE 66 is Community Area Resource Enterprise, a non-profit organization in Gallup, New Mexico. The 66 in our name comes from being located on Highway 66. Gallup's history is closely tied to this old mother road. Our mission is to create opportunities to end homelessness. We believe that housing is a human right. We are committed to working with homeless people to develop affordable housing. By “affordable” we mean by people making about 60 percent of the area median income. We attempt to fulfill our mission by: * Providing Transitional Housing to single men. * Creating affordable housing. * Creating opportunities for work at a living wage. By providing opportunities for people to improve work and life skills to become self-sufficient. We help make hope real for people suffering from homelessness.
