About Community Child Care Association
We believe that all children deserve the best possible start in life. Our vision is world-leading early learning and outside school hours care (OSHC) for every child in Australia. Our purpose is to lead a community advancing early learning and outside school hours care in Australia. Established in 1971, we are the voice of community-based early childhood education and outside school hours care (OSHC) services. We helped set up the very first community-owned services in Australia. Today, we continue to support and champion both community-owned services and the wider sector. We’re active across the country, providing leadership and advocacy, working with governments, and supporting services with membership, quality professional development and consultancies. We also engage in forums such as the Australian Child and Family Services Alliance (ACaFSA) and the Victorian Child and Family Services Alliance (VCaFSA). We support long day care, OSHC, kindergarten, family day care and occasional care educators, teachers, leaders, coordinators and directors. It Takes A Village is the Victorian peak for community-owned education and care. We are also the state peak for OSHC. Our heritage as a sector leader means we’re the go-to organisation for projects, like the Victorian Inclusion Agency. We know that community-owned services are uniquely equipped to provide high-quality education and care. We work towards thriving and valued community and not-for-profit services delivering the best outcomes for children and families.
