About Community College Research Initiatives, University of Washington
The Community College Research Initiatives (CCRI) group is dedicated to research and development (R&D) focusing on equitable college access, progression and transfer, degree completion, and employment in living-wage careers for all learners. CCRI is a University of Washington group that receives funding from state and federal agencies, as well as several prominent foundations. CCRI’s portfolio includes R&D on a range of critical topics related to community college student success including transfer pathways, career pathways and new baccalaureate degree policies and practices implemented in the United States, including the state of Washington. We also actively study and advise nationally on guided pathways and career pathways, community college applied baccalaureates, STEM education, and more. A strong focus is placed on studying reforms that enroll underserved students and diverse learner populations that have used community colleges as their entry point to higher education. The CCRI group is dedicated to understanding the role that these institutions play in student educational and employment outcomes.
