About Community CVS

BwD CVS is the local umbrella body or trade body for the 1,000 plus voluntary, community and faith organisations, including social enterprises, which operate within Blackburn with Darwen. We provide support to people wanting to set up local voluntary and community groups. We provide a range of support to existing groups, including information and networking support, funding advice and business support, manage grant programmes aimed at non profit organisations, manage training & events, help with the recruitment of volunteers, etc. Our Volunteer Centre helps all sections of the local community to access volunteering opportunities. We provide additional support to those who need it - for example people with physical disabilities or learning disabilities, people in recovery, ex-offenders, people who are unemployed or anyone who is lacking confidence and just needs that extra help. Our trading arm, BwD Services CIC deliver marketing & graphic design services to public, private or non profit organisations and our customer base includes charities, schools, solicitors, local councils, health bodies, sports clubs, manufacturing companies. We have strong ties across Lancashire through the Lancashire Association of CVSs and nationally through NAVCA.
