The Community Resource Center of Stanwood Camano envisions a thriving and connected community, one in which all of it's members have dependable access to resources that enrich and empower lives. A community where all of it's members feel they can belong, one in which everyone has a chance to both contribute and receive. A community where everyone can feel fulfilled by their involvement. We were founded on and strive to embody Family Support Principles: https://www.nationalfamilysupportnetwork.org/family-support *We focus on strengths and capabilities of the people we serve *Our emphasis is on the prevention of problems *We honor and embrace diversity *We work in partnership with the community OUR PROGRAMS Anti-Poverty Emergency Funds - financial assistance to avoid eviction, homelessness and housing insecurity. Assistance can be provided for rent, mortgage, essential utilities, fuel, bus tickets, groceries, prescriptions, employment and educational assistance. Case Management Services - work with one of our dedicated staff on goals geared towards self-sufficiency. Family & Community Engage the community at large with programs and events that support the mission of the resource center. *We operate a USED BOOKSTORE onsite that is a job training site and a hidden gem within the heart of Stanwood. All proceeds support programming at the center. Teen Programming As part of our core programming the Community Resource Center provides a teen center for our community's teens. At Davis Place Teen Center our volunteers and staff offer teens a safe and supportive place to engage in their community. Through our programs we strive to help teens improve their social and emotional development, to increase protective factors and to empower youth to contribute to positive change in our community. Our afterschool program provides drop-in services, homework help with volunteer tutors, STEAM classes as well as community service and leadership development.
