About Community Storehouse
Community Storehouse diligently responds to our community's needs, providing immediate help to families and individuals in crisis while offering educational resources to gain long-term stability. Since 1982, Community Storehouse has provided crucial resources, including food, household necessities, and education, to low-income families in Tarrant County. Community Storehouse's services became even more necessary as the pandemic strained low-income families’ ability to provide food and set children back in their education. The number of Tarrant County residents who requested services from Community Storehouse increased exponentially when the pandemic began, and our organization has continued to meet the needs of our community. When children began attending school from home, Community Storehouse provided food and continues to do so over the weekend and during school breaks to ensure no child goes hungry. Because many families who cannot afford food also struggle to afford household goods, Community Storehouse offers baby items and other necessities, such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and other items. The pandemic also exposed and increased educational gaps for children of all ages. The community’s children have still not reached pre-pandemic education outcomes. To catch kids up and set them on the trajectory for academic success, Community Storehouse offers three educational programs strategically designed to address unmet, identified needs of the children within our community.
