About CSS At CSS, our compassionate staff is committed to helping people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) live their lives to the fullest. Our extensive services can provide support for the entire family. We create an environment in which our participants can flourish, strive for independence and contribute to community life. Our knowledgeable staff provides care givers with answers and guidance to supportive services that can benefit the whole family. Our History CSS was founded in 1981 by a devoted group of parents, educators and community leaders. We were established on the premise that all individuals deserve an optimal chance to live with independence, self-esteem, and personal fulfillment. This fundamental belief continues today as we have grown to now serve individuals across more than 50 communities in west suburban Cook and western DuPage counties. Our Philosophy CSS fosters a progressive, forward-thinking environment. Conversations and feedback from our participants and their families have shaped the high quality, relevant programing we offer today. Our goal is to support individuals to improve independence, develop self-esteem and become involved in their communities. All of our services are person-centered and focused on individual choices.
