About Community Tax Aid (DC)
Community Tax Aid, Inc. (CTA) provides free, high-quality tax assistance to low-income individuals and families in the DC area, both during the tax filing season, when our work is most visible, and also throughout the year, when taxpayers look for assistance in resolving outstanding issues, preparing amended returns, and preparing returns for prior years. Each year, CTA serves 4,000 low-income taxpayers at free tax preparation sites in DC, Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties in Maryland, and in the City of Alexandria, and Falls Church in Virginia. With the assistance of 250 volunteers each year, our clients receive $4 million in federal and state refunds each year.
