Welcome to Community Underwriting - an underwriting agency owned by Not for Profits, established to make a real difference to the way insurance is provided in our sector. We operate under a unique business model in the Australian insurance market. Seventy percent of our surplus each year is returned to our shareholders as donations. A further five percent annually is set aside to fund a small grants program for those not for profit insurance clients not large enough to become shareholders. This models enables us to reinvest our client's insurance dollars back into the sector every year. The majority shareholders of Community Underwriting Agency are the Not for Profits whom we insure. Your Not for Profit clients are eligible to become shareholders of the underwriting agency if their annual premium exceeds $75,000. Working with Brokers We work with brokers across Australia to provide innovative insurance solutions for their Not for Profit clients. We quote on either a gross or net basis depending upon the relationship you have with your client and pay market competitive commissions. Our Security Community Underwriting acts under a binding authority as Agent for the following insurers to issue, vary and cancel policies on their behalf: Berkley Insurance Company trading as Berkley Insurance Australia (ABN 53 126 559 706) for all new business and renewals of our General Liability, Association Liability and Event Cancellation Products. Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company Limited (ABN 49 000 525 637) for all new business and renewals of our Industrial Special Risks, Business Package, Motor Vehicle and Voluntary Workers Personal Accident Products.
