About Compassion Coalition
The mission of Compassion Coalition is to inform, equip, and connect churches to transform lives and communities through the love of Christ. Compassion Coalition is a faith-based initiative of the Knoxville Leadership Foundation in Knox County, Tennessee. We are committed to moving beyond the walls of our church buildings to be the compassionate presence of Christ in the midst of the poverty, pain, and brokenness of our community. This ministry is not aligned with any specific church or denomination, but has a distinct Kingdom focus. Compassion Coalition takes a strong asset-based community development approach, and we publish extensive research on both the social needs in Knoxville as well as the numerous resources in our community. It is the conviction of Compassion Coalition that God is faithful, has never abandoned the darkest places of our city and has raised up people and efforts to be Kingdom representatives even in places of pain and brokenness. The ministry seeks to highlight all such endeavors in our community through Salt & Light: A Guide to Loving Knoxville. http://bit.ly/29Kgwl6 Compassion Coalition serves as a connector to bring those with a heart for others together to focus on specific needs in our community. Since the ministry has no denominational ties we can easily serve as an impartial entity to bring disparate churches, agencies, ministries, and nonprofits together to address critical issues in Knox County.
