About Compassion Without Borders

CWOB is a non-profit dedicated to providing brighter futures to animals in need on both sides of the border. We help those who have the most urgent need and the least likely to be helped due to geographic, cultural and socioeconomic barriers. Founded in 2001, Co-Founders, Dr. Christi Camblor and Moncho Camblor, combined their skills and passion to help at-risk animals. Dr. Camblor has been a practicing Veterinarian for nearly 20 years. Moncho Camblor is an established Creative Director and Graphic Designer. Today, CWOB has a strong presence in Sonora, Mexico and Northern California, providing our rescued dogs with shelter, veterinary care and adoption placement. In addition, CWOB provides a full range of veterinary services to thousands of animals living with their families in low income communities. These are the foundational programs of our life-saving work. Homelessness Prevention •We provide low cost veterinary care and spay/neuter for animals in underserved communities. Rescue - International and US •We directly rescue and transport dogs living in impoverished areas on both sides of the border, with a focus on Sonora, Mexico and Central Valley, California. Veterinary Care •We provide veterinary services by staff veterinarians and vet technicians, offering care, treatment and surgical procedures to our rescued animals. Housing and Adoption •Our rescue dogs are sheltered at our facilities in both Mexico and Northern California. We transport dogs from Mexico and Central Valley, CA to our shelter in Santa Rosa, where the dogs are ultimately adopted. Partnerships and Collaborations •Our ability to save more lives is directly linked to the strong partnerships we have nurtured over the years. Our Interstate Chihuahua Transport Program is one example of a collaborative effort between many groups and shelters that has saved the lives of 1730 Chihuahuas to-date.
