With over 30 years of experience in employee benefit planning, CBI is a leader in the Marketplace regarding the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and other client regulatory matters. Through our many trusted alliance partners, we also make available to our clients many other insurance benefits including large group employee benefit planning, life insurance planning, retirement plans, and property and casualty insurance. The Comprehensive Benefits, Inc. story started in 1989, when Michael Embry, Sr. and a business partner established their independent insurance practice in Sterling Heights, Michigan. After building a successful agency, Mike was approached to join a large regional bank to create their employee benefits division. He was joined by Suzy Alberts and Shannon Baxter as the business grew and flourished. After 18 years under corporate ownership, Mike purchased the employee benefits practice and returned it to private ownership. He re-opened CBI as an independent employee benefits agency in May of 2014. As the agency has continued to grow, Glenda Peet joined as Account Manager in 2018, and Kim Embry came onboard as Data and Marketing Director in 2017. The agency boasts over 100 years of combined insurance experience and a 98% client retention rate.
