About Concussion Toolkit

We are Concussion Toolkit, a social enterprise committed to providing user-centered, gender-informed and holistic concussion management solutions. Our mission is to provide accessible concussion recovery to everyone. Given that 80% of concussion research and advice is based on men, we provide inclusive concussion recovery support through a gender-informed, interdisciplinary approach, ensuring the best health outcomes for all. Our multi-method, user-centred approach is essential to address biases and reductionism, leading to a more accurate understanding of individual's needs. Our services include a bespoke concussion toolkit ©, university and sports clubs’ consultations, training sessions, and protocol alignment, all backed by the latest research. We are committed to equipping sporting communities with lifesaving knowledge and resources, fostering a safer, more informed and equitable environment. Our toolkit© features comprehensive recovery guides and unique, simultaneous return to play and return to learn guidelines, preventing premature return to play/learn, reducing the risk of long-term brain diseases like dementia. Concussion Toolkit was founded in May 2024 by four University of Bristol Master's Students, passionate about playing sport not at the expense of long term health.
