About ConfiDance

Michael Curtis became an instructor in 2003. During these first years of learning the business, he noticed an unsettling trend. Several studios did not always have the best interest of the client in mind. Hard sell tactics were used, and this was not easy to deal with. Michael wanted to apply more of a customer-centric approach to the business and add programs that would successfully progress a client from the vision of their goals to its realization. One where the process was more a partnership between client and instructor with shared goals. He created ConfiDance Unlimited, LLC in 2006. Since its inception, ConfiDance has added the Ohio Ballroom Dance Teacher College in 2009 – a program that trains anyone to start a career in ballroom dance instruction. It has organized several dance camps and brought in experts from across the world. In 2020, ConfiDance has introduced the Performance-Level Dance Method, a course with progressive exercises created to get the dancer “out of their head”. Finally, ConfiDance 360 which is an online and in-person master class and lecture resource centering around dance subjects and non-dance subjects that contribute to the self-development of not just the dancer, but the person. ConfiDance continues to lead the way in creating innovative services to help dancers reach their goals, no matter their dance experience or goals.
