About Connected Chef

Connected Chef’s works catalyze a community-controlled food system that provides fresh, nutrient-dense ingredients; healthy eating education; and pathways to financial agency. We are already growing into an organization that is for, of, and by the Latino, Spanish-speaking Queens community. Prioritizing building from within our community, we will empower neighbors to meet their own goals around food access and health while sharing knowledge and resources that will encourage a borough-wide movement toward food sovereignty. We work toward our vision through our Lifeline grocery delivery and equitable farm stand programming. Through these efforts, the Connected Chef delivers fresh, nutrient dense, culturally appropriate groceries to low and moderate income families, as well as severely underserved and under-resourced communities in New York City, all while creating job opportunities and deepening community engagement throughout the community served. The nutrient-dense groceries that Connected Chef distributes comes 80% from local farms and distributors in the NY, NJ, PA area.
