About Us At Connected Ecology Ltd, we are a small, independent ecological consultancy that places a strong emphasis on clear communication and effective collaboration. Led by Expertise Our Principal Ecologist, Lee Rudd, brings over 17 years of experience in protected species surveys, mitigation strategy design, and ECoW. He also has over 14 years’ experience of working under Natural England protected species licenses. With his wealth of knowledge, we can tackle complex ecological challenges and provide sound, practical advice. He is also a full member of Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). Our Licensing Credentials Connected Ecology is registered for a range of ecological licenses, including: • Badgers: Environment Agency licence for interference with setts, including closure and destruction (WML-OR93 Annex C) • Barn Owls: Survey licence for development (CL29) • Bats: Survey licence level 1 (CL17) and personal surveyors licence to endoscope and disturb hibernating bats (WML-LR34) • Great Crested Newts: Survey licence level 1 (CL08) • Water Voles: Licence to displace (CL31) and Environment Organisational licence for displacement (WML-OR93 Annex B) What We Offer • Lead Ecologist on Your Project: We can take full responsibility for the ecological aspects of your project, ensuring smooth execution and compliance. • Ecology Team Support: If you already have an existing ecology team, we can provide specialist support to help deliver specific aspects of the project. • Protected Species Licensing & Implementation: We can assist with securing protected species mitigation licences from Natural England (e.g., for water voles and badgers) and manage the implementation of licence works.
