About Connected Pathways

Connected Pathways bridges critical gaps in our relationship with the living world. Led by Dr. Birgit Schauer (DVM, MVSt), Connected Pathways offers two interconnected services: 1) One Health Consultancy To help organisations and individuals (farmes, landowners) understand and address the interconnected health of people, animals and environments. Drawing on epidemiological expertise and veterinary science, I provide evidence-based solutions for complex health challenges that cross species and ecosystem boundaries. 2) Forest Immersion Experiences Moving beyond wellness tourism, I guide people into reciprocal relationships with forest ecosystems. My approach recognises forests as partners, not resources, fostering genuine connections that benefits both humans and the natural world. Based in Golden Bay, Tasman District, New Zealand, I work with individuals, businesses, and organisations seeking to heal the fundamental disconnections that underlie many of today's health and environmental challenges. I bring unique expertise as an epidemiologist, trained veterinarian (not registered in New Zealand) and certified forest bathing guide.
