About Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach
The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach believes that everyone deserves dental care. The Foundation, through its CTMOM Free Dental Clinics, provides the underserved and uninsured with free dental care so no one will suffer needlessly from mouth pain, complications from lack of care, or be embarrassed about their smile. Since 2008, our clinics have provided 22,269 patients with free dental services and oral education valued at $14.7 million. The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach was founded in November of 2007 as a consortium of individuals from the oral health care sector who sought to collaborate to improve the oral health of the underserved and working poor in the state of Connecticut. Pilot funding came from the Connecticut State Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Foundation, Connecticut Health Foundation, Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and several other foundations as well as banks and private associations and individuals. Its Board of Directors consists of 10 members who oversee the financial health of the foundation, outreach programs, and act as ambassadors to other organizations and community outreach projects. The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach sponsors the CT Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic dedicated to providing charitable dental to the underserved, uninsured and working poor and building awareness of the importance of oral healthcare to create a healthier community.
