Conroy Consulting specializes in the development of cost-effective municipal GIS mapping solutions that improve the productivity of your local government’s workflow systems and community services. Having spent the mid 1990s - 2000s working for the world leader in consumer electronics, I realized how fast the industrial internet age was coming....We are now at the dawn of the "internet of things" fueled by “big data”. This new era will favor entities who can economically leverage a never ending repository of data and then actually use it effectively in decision making. We have already seen the transition from paper documents to digital information in numerous industries. With a background in manufacturing, technology and operations, I have helped many companies leverage these advancements to their benefit. Recently, my focus has been on helping Municipal Water departments find a robust, accurate and cost effective solution for mapping water lines via Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). For more than a hundred years, Municipal Water Systems engineers have used paper maps to locate water lines. However, with the growing importance of water conservation, cost and aging of our water infrastructure, utilizing a GIS system enables more accurate, faster and cost effective decisions, including the most important factor "safety". What makes Conroy Consulting unique is that we do NOT sell GIS mapping hardware or software, nor are we aligned with any specific geospatial data mapping service provider. Our expertise is in helping clients identifying data sources (i.e., federal or state governmental bodies, third-party agencies or suppliers), and feeding the information into a robust GIS mapping system which allows for faster, more accurate decision making.
