About Consolidated Metal Products (CMP)
Since 1895, we have been committed to providing our customers with high-quality alloys. CMP, originally founded by George Westinghouse as the Consolidated Car Heating Company, began with the merger of the Car Heating Company of Pittsburgh and a business in Albany, NY. Westinghouse built a new facility in Albany to house both companies, and among the original stockholders was James Roosevelt, father of Franklin D. Roosevelt. As the company evolved, we shifted our focus to specialty alloys and pioneered the development of Ticonium, the first partial denture alloy. We also became leaders in producing Cobalt-Chrome alloys. To better reflect our specialization, we later changed our name to Consolidated Metal Products, a name that continues to represent our mission of innovation and quality today.
