About Consumer Connections at MHANJ

Consumer Connections is a statewide program of the Mental Health Association in New Jersey. Consumer Connections is a peer workforce development program that trains and supports individuals with lived experience who are working to become peers in the mental health or co-occurring system. In addition to providingeducation and support to peers, the program also provides support and education to peer employers throughoutthe state. The program offers training that meets the educational requirements and leads to credentialing as aCertified Recovery Support Practitioner (CRSP). Our program’s mission is to strengthen and expand peer workforce development. We do this through the creation of high-quality training and educational opportunities and have a goal of empowering individuals working as peer specialists to use their lived experience to support others in moving toward wellness and recovery.
