About Continuo Foundation

Continuo Foundation is a charity taking a strategic approach to supporting and championing the UK's world-leading baroque and early music sector. Our grants unleash creativity and help musicians to flourish while enriching the lives of people across the UK with passionate performances and beautiful music. Our Continuo Connect digital platform - www.ContinuoConnect.com -opens access to this music and encourages audience engagement by offering comprehensive concert and festival listings, high quality articles and interviews enriched with multimedia content, curated playlists, and an acclaimed fortnightly newsletter, all made available free of charge to all users. Baroque and early music performances are particularly well suited for engaging audiences who are new to classical music. All freelancers, the musicians who have chosen this field are not only playing at the highest level, but are also steeped in knowledge about their music, their sometimes weird and wonderful instruments, and history, all based on their own research. They love to share this knowledge and are always happy to speak with audiences - and to demonstrate their instruments. Suited to performing in more intimate venues (village halls, pubs, churches, parks) which are local to their audiences, these smaller ensembles are able to make an outsized impact in inspiring new audiences and making culture an accessible part of the social fabric of communities across the UK.
