About Contrast Film

CONTRAST FILM combines the passion for artistically demanding film with marketing and social science expertise. This results in films with audience appeal on socially relevant topics. The goal is to offer a contrasting program with cinema and television productions that attract attention and open up a new perspective on everyday topics. CONTRAST FILM, founded in 2009, is an internationally focused Swiss production company with offices in Zurich and Berne. The partners are Ivan Madeo (Cannes Producer on the Move), Stefan Eichenberger (AMPAS member), and Urs Frey (European Film Academy), who have been joined by Dr. Anke Beining as Commercial Managing Director since 2024. Together they develop and produce films focusing on international exploitation. Their films have been selected at over 300 festivals, have won over 70 awards, and have run twice for an Oscar and once for a Golden Globe. CONTRAST FILM’s lineup includes high-end series such as DAVOS 1917, commercial TV productions such as TATORT, and festival hits such as Stefan Haupt’s THE CIRCLE, Hannes Baumgartner’s MIDNIGHT RUNNER, the 10 directors collective film WONDERLAND, Oliver Rihs' CAGED BIRDS, and Michael Krummenacher's THE TRAITOR. Also in the lineup are co-productions such as STELLA.
