Conversation Builds Character is a nonprofit education organization dedicated to teaching people to think critically, act responsibly, and lead courageously. Today, more than ever, there is a need to give students the tools, deep understanding, and historical context to find lasting solutions to injustice and intolerance. Through lessons and resources designed to complement a school’s existing curriculum, Conversation Builds Character helps teachers facilitate powerful, change-making conversations with their students by looking at modern day issues through the lens of history. By examining the events of the Holocaust, other genocides, and current-day issues to understand the consequences of both human action and non-action, this innovative program challenges students to examine their thoughts, speech and actions in light of historical examples of grave injustice. By empowering teachers and administrators to tackle difficult topics with their students in honest and meaningful ways, Conversation Builds Character is helping to build strong leaders and even stronger communities for all of our futures.
