About Cooper Trooper Foundation

In 2009, the Cooper Trooper Foundation was initiated after Rod and Missy Cook's youngest son, Cooper, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. He was only 8 weeks old at the time. Thankfully, Cooper is now cancer free and healthy! During their experience, they realized the impact the diagnosis had on their entire family, especially Cooper's two older brothers Carson and Colby. Often siblings feel "lost in the shuffle" when all of the focus is on the child diagnosed with cancer. Therefore, the Cooper Trooper Foundation began with a mission to encourage and support the siblings by sending them a "Courage Kit". These Courage Kits come in a knapsack with various items made especially for the siblings to remind them they are not forgotten. Our Courage Kits can be requested online and are distributed to multiple hospitals across the country. The realization of how severely underfunded childhood cancer research is initiated the 2nd part of our mission - The Cooper Trooper Childhood Cancer Research Fund! As of September 2023, $435,000 has been donated to support childhood cancer research.
