Copernus is one of the largest independent suppliers of chilled fish to both the UK and international retail markets – and quite frankly it’s something we are pretty proud of here in Hull. Being nestled on the east coast, living in a town that boasted what was historically the UK’s third largest port, some would say it’s fate that for two generations our family has sat firmly amongst the largest UK suppliers of seafood. We are loyal to our suppliers, customers and service providers which enables us to deliver values and quality throughout the business. The business has come a long way since our late founder Walter Simpson took his first orders over the phone in a local telephone box. We are now proud to produce a full range of pre-packaged chilled products which we supply into leading supermarkets. Renowned for getting under the skin of our customers’ strategic objectives, Copernus is synonymous with unequivocal quality and innovation. Our philosophy is to work closely alongside our partners to create bespoke products that respond directly to consumer demand. Copernus is also proud to work in partnership with the Prevented Ocean Plastic programme, which drove us to take action and invest in tackling the global ocean pollution crisis. The programme is aimed specifically at reducing the impact on coastal communities in at risk areas, including South East Asia, South America and the Galapagos Islands, Mediterranean, Central America and the Caribbean. This global recycling initiative helps tens of thousands of people around the world to earn their living, clean their coastlines and prevent ocean plastic.
