About Coral Sea Clinical Research Institute
CSCRI was established in 2018 when Dr. James Daveson saw an opportunity to develop a regional clinical trial site that would allow regional patients to access therapies otherwise not normally available outside of Queensland Metropolitan centres. By facilitating the introduction of clinical trials that are sponsored by international biopharmaceutical companies to Mackay, a substantial number of patients will now have an opportunity to access therapies when those otherwise available to them are no longer working, or are otherwise contraindicated in their management. CSCRI’s trials allow regional patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials delivering new therapies for such. By having a well-established clinic with a well characterised cohort of people with these diseases, international companies find it an attractive option to partner with CSCRI to trial therapies relevant to these patients. Dr. Daveson has over 10-years’ experience delivering safe and effective clinical trials and has established endosQ to be the largest regional inflammatory enteropathy clinic in Australia. Together with the team of other gastroenterologists at endosQ, they can leverage their private patient base to recruit eligible patients into trials, enabling enhanced insight into the clinical trial results. CSCRI collaborates with many clinical trial providers as well as biopharmaceutical companies to offer potential therapies that can make an enormous difference to the lives of patients suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Coeliac Disease.
