About CORE Theatre Arts Training

CORE is a new theatre arts training company encompassing acting, voice, mime, physical theatre and production; equipping the next-generation age 17+ for direct entry into the industry and endowing them with a wealth of transferrable skills for employment in other sectors. Admissions will not require school qualifications but will be through audition and interview only, enabling disadvantaged students access to training. The creative and media industry is currently one of the fastest growing industries in the UK. Drama, soaps, games and movies inform and influence current thinking, attitudes, beliefs and cultural trends, particularly in the younger generations. Our vision is to individually equip young people to perform and create powerful works of excellence that impact cultural and social narratives through a wide range of skills. We have a widely inclusive approach, welcoming those who wish to train in an intensively practical and vocational setting, including welcoming gifted individuals who have educational, financial and social disadvantages. We have a Christian ethos based on the possibility of restoration and life lived to the full. We believe that a dynamic, vibrant and full creative life is available to everyone, and we aspire to release this potential in individuals of any background, whether they have faith or not. We train them to be emotionally and spiritually robust, develop a strong identity and pursue excellence in order to impact our culture and society for good. We are under the auspices of Phoenix Performing Arts Trust, a registered Charity and in 2022 are registering as a Community Interest Company
