Corehard Limited was founded in March 2000 initially to provide quality and inspection services relating to works undertaken on the highway. In 2003 it achieved accreditation from UKAS for core sampling, investigation on bituminous and concrete materials, along with pavement texture depth. This has since expanded to include, macro-texture depth testing, slip resistance, skid resistance, compaction testing, and in-situ materials resistance for research purposes. With considerable experience in the street-works sector we now offer consultancy services and advanced training relating to statutory and specification requirements, as well as expert witness provision where required. We have also written and published refresher aids based on the fourth edition of the SROH which are now available on the Joint Authorities Group website. This has led to our development and provision of client specific training and safety seminars, documentation and handbooks for Management and site operations. These relate to a clearer understanding of the SROH (Specification for Reinstatement of Openings in the Highway) which is currently in its fourth edition. Corehard has embraced new and innovative technologies in relation to inspection and testing and holds several patents associated with current undertakings. The foundation of the business is based on open and honest reporting where clients and interested parties are invited to participate in procedures where confidentiality allows, and to encourage best practice in relation to completion of works. This mantra has allowed the business to expand naturally where recommendations and referrals have increased business whilst remaining resolutely cost effective.
