About Cornell Design

Cornell Design offers professional, sub-contract Mechanical and Electrical designers to supplement our client’s existing design capabilities when they need some extra or specialist capacity. Operating across South Australia, all of our designers are from time-served, trade backgrounds to ensure the best outcomes for our client’s projects. Our designers are able to work both on and off-site as part of your engineering design team to suit your project requirements. The majority of our mechanical design work is carried out in either Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks (and AutoCAD for 2D work). Services range from developing concepts or sketches through to fully developed, 3D models and assemblies. From this data, full 2D manufacturing drawings and electronic exchange formats for machining, laser profiling and folding, etc. are generated. This also includes producing Bill of Materials (BoM). Our services include:- • 3D Mechanical modelling • 2D Mechanical detail design (workshop drawings) • Piping and routing • Fabrications and sheet metal (including flat patterns) • Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P & ID’s) and circuit diagrams • Plant measure ups and layouts • Photorealistic rendering of 3D models and video animations Most of our electrical design work will be carried out in AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD LT. Our sub-contract electrical design services include (but are not limited to): • Detailed electrical drawings • Practical, technical input • Documentation • Drawing maintenance, updates and ‘as-builts’ • Panel layouts
