About Cougar Capital

Cougar Capital Club will act as an introduction into the world of investments exploring topics such as fixed income, private debt, venture capital and angel investing just to name a few. Our twice a month meetings will consist of varying themed investment months as the semester continues and feature professionals from that industry. Our first month theme will be stocks, in which members will be introduced to the stock market and basic investing concepts. The club will also consist of an equity research and active portfolio branch where a select number of students will meet once a week to discuss emerging market trends as well as generate stock pitches to contribute to an active portfolio. In the realm of equity markets and research within CCC, key learning objectives pertain around collaborative analysis, informed decision-making, and strategic portfolio management. Members will actively engage in in-depth research on individual stocks, utilizing both fundamental and technical analysis to assess potential investment opportunities. Fundamental analysis involves careful analysis of financial statements, evaluating company management, and understanding industry trends to gauge the intrinsic value of a stock. Simultaneously, technical analysis involves studying price charts and market indicators to identify patterns and trends. Regular meetings will serve as forums for members to share research findings, debate investment theses, and collectively decide on portfolio allocations.
