About Counseling Connections

Counseling Connections, founded in 1982, is one of the largest group practices serving Lake and Northern Cook Counties. Our group consists of Child/Adolescent Psychiatrists, Adult Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers and Professional Counselors. We provide individual, family, and group therapy for a variety of diagnoses and presenting issues. Our practice offers comprehensive care for the whole family, in a multidisciplinary setting. Counseling connections also offers neuropsychological assessments, school psycho educational assessments, and Autism Spectrum Disorder testing. In addition to working with children, adolescents and families, we have a long history of working with adults and relationship issues. Many clients come to us for individual or marital difficulties and Attorneys frequently refer to our divorce mediators for families in transition. We also work closely with the court system to assist families with custody evaluations, domestic violence evaluations, anger management evaluations and evaluations in criminal matters. About Our Schools We opened our first therapeutic day school in 1998, serving children with emotional and behavioral issues. Students are referred to our schools by their home district when it is determined that the public system can no longer meet their needs. We now serve children through five schools located in the North and West Suburbs of Chicago. At two of our schools, we serve high functioning children on the Austin Spectrum who are in need of an alternate setting, from 1st grade through high school.
