Our Story: 📖 Meet Jess Harrison and Kitty Alice, the dynamic mother-daughter team behind Counterpoise Wellness. Founded in April 2020, this innovative evidence-based mental health service emerged from Kitty's Childhood PTSD resulting in a 10-year battle with Anorexia Nervosa. Desperate for support, Kitty and Jess experienced long NHS waiting times, multiagency interventions and paid for countless expensive therapies … an experience sadly far too many can relate to. Anorexia Nervosa left Kitty so ill that at one stage she was given two weeks left to live. As Kitty slowly recovered, her mother Jess returned to her studies and this lived experience became an essential part of working as a qualified counselling therapist. They co-founded Counterpoise by combining Jess’ knowledge of evidence-based talking therapy and Kitty’s experience working in elite sports and community provision.
