COUNTY OF MENDOCINO is a general law county established in 1850 by the State legislature and is a political subdivision, or unit of the State of California. Mendocino County is located about 100 miles north of San Francisco and is bordered by Sonoma County to the South, Humboldt County to the north, Lake County to the east an the Pacific Ocean to the west.
