Our journey began in 2017 when Founder and Principal Consultant, Mike Rawaan, launched Little City Healthcare Consulting (LCHC). The name is a homage to Falls Church, Virginia - a suburb of Metropolitan Washington, DC - which Mike calls home and where the firm is based. As the firm evolved over a five-year period, we felt it was appropriate to rename the firm to something that reflects how we address challenges in the U.S. healthcare system, so we renamed it Covalence Healthcare Consulting (CHC) or Covalence Health for short. The term Covalence (pronounced kō-ˈvā-lən(t)s) describes covalent bonds that are formed when atoms share electrons to form a new molecule or compound. We believe we can build something new and valuable by sharing our experience and expertise with your team. Covalence Health represents nearly two centuries of collective experience in healthcare and our team takes a unique and creative approach to addressing challenges in one of the most complex industries in our country. Collectively, our team has completed long-term and short-term engagements with organizations across the entire healthcare industry including national and regional Health Systems, Post-Acute Care Providers, national and regional Health Plans, ACOs, Healthcare Services Companies, Healthcare Technology Companies, and Healthcare Investment Firms (Private Equity and Venture Capital.) In working with these types of organizations, CHC has led projects in areas such as Innovation, New Product Development and Go-to-Market Strategy, Market Analysis and Segmentation, Mergers, Acquisitions and Partnerships, Investing Strategy, Health Policy and Reimbursements, Transition to Value-Based Care, Provider Network Management, and Technology Evaluation and Implementation.
