About Cowie Bookkeeping & Consulting Services
For over a decade I have helped corporations: Understand their financials Create budgets Advise on areas to save money Being a performer and arts lover myself, I understand the problems owners face when trying to wear every hat, including the “finance” hat. I take my expertise and knowledge of the arts and use them to help keep your finances in order so that you can focus on your programs and recitals/shows. I was raised in a musical family that was always on the stage. Throughout my life I have doubled as a performer as well as a Financial Planning and Analysis professional so you can say that I have a passion for both numbers and performing arts. Not only do I get to build my own business and enjoy the flexibility that brings to my family life, but I can now help performing arts entrepreneurs: Free themselves from financial stresses Help them grow and free up their time to pursue their passions, goals, and that ALL important next show! Great bookkeeping is crucial to: 1. Finding growth opportunities 2. Creating efficiencies, and; 3. Ultimately increasing profit. I’ve been a part of the musical theatre industry for the last 6 years, giving me insight into the challenges and pressures owners face and have helped improve their business. Does this sound familiar to you? - You are working way too much and focusing on the tasks you did not intend to be doing when you started this exciting business. - You don’t have time to focus on your recitals/shows in the way you would like as you are wearing too many hats. - You are not sure how much to spend on costumes, props, and other items for each show because you’ve never had a concrete budget to follow - Your books are a mess and you’re stressing as tax time is looming If you are a performing arts owner and would like to focus more on what you love and do best and need help with numbers and setting a proper budget, feel free to email me at blair@cowiebookkeeping.ca
