The Israeli Council for Youth Organizations is an association comprised of 19 Israeli youth and children organizations. The Council was founded on the initiative of the directors of youth and children organizations as a non-profit organization, and it unites, represents and organizes the joint effort of the various youth organizations operating in the informal education sector. The Council’s mission is to provide Israeli youth and children organizations options to expand influence and fulfill their visions, both separately and together, and it works to promote informal educational activities in all the different populations of Israeli society. These include: the ultra-Orthodox sector, the Arab sector, the LGBT community, youth in Central Israel as well as the periphery areas, new immigrants, Ethiopian Jews in Israel, National-Religious Jews, the Bedouin sector, the Druze sector, Christian Catholics, Conservatives, etc. The youth and children organizations in the Council educate for tolerance and for accepting others, and promote the values of the Jewish and democratic State of Israel using a unique and varied range of tools. The Israeli Council for Youth Organizations represents 19 educational youth organizations encompassing over 110,000 participants, over 2,000 staff members, around 12,000 volunteers, thousands of young leaders, hundreds of pre-army service year and preparatory year volunteers, as well as tens of thousands of alumni.
