Since 1883 Crane Johnson Lumber has been supplying quality lumber, plywood, trusses, windows, doors, roofing, and siding to contractors, builders, and remodelers. Our company is comprised of 5 lumberyards and Mid States Truss Company. Founded in 1883 in Cooperstown, North Dakota, Crane Johnson Lumber has evolved from a single lumberyard serving a rural market into a multi-faceted company encompassing several divisions with headquarters in Fargo, North Dakota. Additional locations are in Mayville and Surrey, North Dakota, and Perham and Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Located on 10 acres at the intersection of Main Avenue and Interstate 29, the Fargo location is home to our primary lumberyard and serves as a distribution facility for our branch locations. It also houses our window sales division where we assemble and service Andersen and Silverline windows. In 1965 Crane Johnson established its truss manufacturing subsidiary, Mid States Truss, on the same site. Here we produce quality roof and floor trusses as well as wall panels using Mitek engineering. All of these “companies within a company”—along with an in-house credit department, drafting department, and full service delivery with boom trucks, semis, vans, truck-mounted lifts, and cranes—combine to make Crane Johnson Lumber the area’s premier supplier to contractors.
