It is becoming increasingly evident that our communities, institutions, and the world at large, are facing a range of complex challenges that are resistant to traditional responses. CIC believes in young people as designers, inventors and social innovators. We know that properly supported they will play a pivotal role in remaking the world. Some of the beliefs that drive our efforts include: It's time to follow hope - These are amazing times as the world is shifting in surprising and important ways. Although our institutions and conventions have in many instances served us well, the changing landscape means that our local communities and the world at large are crying out for new approaches. Great things happen when we let our best hopes for the future draw us forward. Young people driving change - Young people will play a critically important role in redesigning, reshaping and remaking our world and communities. We'll help young people unleash their inner creative and build the skills, confidence and connections they need to drive change and thrive in the modern world. We'll learn together - Young people will be well supported and have access to an ecosystem of people, ideas, training, information and resources. As the CIC journey unfolds, we will all learn new ways to foster and harness the passion and skills of young people. Connect broadly, embrace difference - In an era where it’s easy for people with different worldviews and life experiences to drift apart, we use diverse perspectives and talents as an asset to capitalise on.
