About Cream City Ribbon
A Natural History of American Ribbon Making Ours is a story woven from the fabric of American industrialization – and yet we seem to be just as relevant today. The origin of Cream City Ribbon is the local leather industry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin of the late-19th and the early-20th Centuries. As General Printed String Co., we used our machines, imported from Europe, to make an industrial banding solution. Today, Cream City Ribbon is crafted on the very same machines. The original manufacturing techniques have been preserved to make this ribbon like no other on the planet. It is truly a sustainable enterprise.
