Based in Eugene, Oregon, and Gossas, Senegal, CREATE! collaborates with villagers in rural Senegal to help them build a sustainable future for their communities as they cope with water, food, and fuel shortages resulting from the impacts of climate change.. Natural resource depletion and a lack of knowledge and economic opportunities have deteriorated village life and traditional livelihoods in Senegal. CREATE! works with rural communities to help residents gain access to abundant and affordable clean water using renewable solar energy, and improve their skills in organic agriculture, poultry production, and other income generating activities. We partner with villagers to build their capacity for community self-development, using training strategies based on local knowledge, participation, and social mobilization to maximize self-reliance and self-sufficiency.
