About Creative Movement Dance

Creative Movement (CMD) was founded in 1993 by Shanon Beebe-Farsakh. In 1995 Nina Brandsfield became a CMD Instructor and then majority shareholder and Studio Director in 2005. The studio outgrew its original location and opened our current location in the fall of 1998. The studio continued to grow and expanded our facility to three studios in 2001, and added a fourth studio a year later. CMD offers classes in many styles and areas including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip hop, musical theatre and tumbling. We offer classes for all ages and abilities from 3 years to adults as well as an All Boys class! CMD frequently offers workshops and classes in breakdance, flamenco, acting and also offers a Mom & Me class throughout the year! Individual classes are available upon request. There are three categories of classes offered at CMD: General classes, Technique classes and Competition Team (CT) classes. The purpose of dividing the methods is to ensure students have the opportunity to dance any given style in the context most comfortable for them. General classes are for anybody who would like to take a class and perform in any given style. Technique classes are for dancers wanting to further their technical abilities. CT (Competition Team) classes are for dancers who desire to compete and have been evaluated for placement. All CT classes (except Hip Hop Comp) are invitation only. With a well-rounded faculty and more styles of dancing, Creative Movement is continuing to strive to become not only a great dance school, but also develop confidence, poise and determination to carry throughout a lifetime.
