Sustainable living - Needed by all but OUR focus at CRH is on what we need in the rural environments. Why? Because most of our food is grown there and we can also use the space we have to improve the environment for the entire population. Ivan has been an avid supporter, promoter and supplier to the farming community for over 25 years but still sees the need to do even more in these ever changing (and challenging) times that we live in in 2020 and beyond. Ivan's focus for the last 15 years has been to elevate the humble fruit growing industry in the eyes of all UK consumers and to make this industry truly more sustainable. This has included innovation and passion in developing and supplying bespoke machinery, pruning, planting and harvesting products, crop protection systems and irrigation/rainwater harvesting solutions. Life moves on and sustainability for the next generation becomes paramount, hence CRH Sustainablity Group was born and named from that desire to provide for our 3 sons - quite a normal thing to do especially in the farming community. We had land, we had experience (both positive and negative), we had energy but, above all, a continuous burning desire to make a difference to the 'food providing heroes' all around us and indeed to the rural environment in general. Here's how, to start with! 1. Growing and selling a unique hybrid version of the worlds fastest growing hardwood tree; but ALSO, the worlds hungriest carbon guzzling trees that consume 10 times more carbon than any other tree and look amazing too! So, grow your own timber for burning (including commercial biomass), for ornaments (huge jungle leaves), for honey (light purple flowers from year 2 on), for shade, for fun (watch them grow up to 3mtrs per year!) AND consume masses of carbon to help the environment in the meantime! 2.
