About Crushing Colonialism

Crushing Colonialism is an Indigenous-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uplifts Indigenous people through media and traditional storytelling. We advocate for the just funding and employment of Native media workers and storytellers, create professional opportunities, and produce international reporting and organizing to inform and uplift marginalized community members. Our programs focus on uplifting the work of multiply-marginalized Indigenous people, including AfroIndigenous, 2LGBTQIA+, and disabled Native people, and undoing the harms of settler colonialism and imperialism, stopping gendered violence, and standing up to ableism. We support the full inclusion of our relatives and the creation and promotion of disability-accessible storytelling. We produce arts events, high-quality international reporting and communication campaigns, advocate for the representation of Native people in the media, and build resources for job seekers and employers.
